But be careful when you sand the dry paint. Use a mask, and goggles for safety.

How to fix exterior paint inside with extra step

This paint is not very harmful to the human body. I say this paint is “not dangerous” but it is “thinkable”. If you are very worried, you can choose any indoor paint, then apply one more thin coat to the exterior paint.

The paint will be covered up by interior paint. And it will last long without any issue.

It is true exterior paint some ingredients release toxic smells, but it is very little and less effective for human health. There is no record of anyone being badly affected by it. But you should use exterior paint outside and interior paint inside. It is manufacturer recommendations.

Can you mix interior and exterior paint together?

If you have 2-gallon interior paint and 2-gallon exterior paint, but you immediately need 3-gallon paint for interior use, you can mix 1-gallon exterior paint with interior paint. But it is not always recommended. These 2 types of paint ingredients are different. And these ingredients’ reactions are different.
