Bob Ross uses a clear acrylic palette specially designed for Bob Ross. The palette is huge but easy to handle. Very easy to take a lot of color on one palette, which is especially great for landscape painting.

What is Bob Ross Palette

The Bob Ross palette is a huge paint palette that is 24 inches long, 16.2 inches wide, and 12.5 inches wide at the tail. Its material is acrylic plastic. 

What are the cons of the Bob Ross palette?

  1. The size is too big. Maybe someone does not like the huge size. Not ideal for a child.
  2. The thickness of the mansion on amazon is ¼, but the actual thickness is ⅛.
  3. Thin acrylic plastic, so this product is crackable. However, by applying some good practice, you can get far away from the problem. Instead of putting the paint on top of the palette like Bob Ross, put the paint at the bottom of the palette beside the thumb. This area is the hardest area.
  4. The palette is scratchable. So carefully use your paint knife on the palette. 

What are the pros of the bob ross palette?

  1. Again the size. It gives you a huge space to put on paint. You can easily blend different types of paint in one palette, which gives you a huge advantage of landscape painting.
  2. Lightweight. The palette is big, but the weight is very light. You can grab it all day easily 😄.
  3. Clean up. The palette is made with acrylic plastic, which is easier to clean than glass, wood, or other palettes. 
  4. You can grab it easily. The palette has 2 handle holes for grabbing. One for the thumb and the other for 4 fingers. You will get extra space in the grab hole, which is very comfortable. 

Is the Bob Ross palette worth it?

There are some cons which I have already mentioned as well as provided solutions. 

  1. Too big
  2. Thin
  3. Crackable
  4. Scratchable

If you keep in mind the cons, it will be the best paint palette in the market. As a beginner, this palette must increase productivity, and for pro painters, they need a lot of paint blending, this palette is cool for this. This palette is only for you if you have a passion for painting, especially for the Bob Ross style.
